SHELTER POLICY TRAINING GRANT: Closed March 31, 2016
Is your shelter still using policies and procedures that restrict adoptions based on breed or mix? Does your organization require different protocols or approaches for handling or adoption of “pit bull” dogs? Through our shelter policy training grant, you can apply for an Animal Farm Foundation representative to work directly with your organization to evaluate and overhaul the programs and policies, either written or unwritten, that may be preventing you from increasing adoptions.
Cutting-edge research reveals that animals and adopters benefit when the agency implements breed-neutral best practices to make policy and adoption decisions. Animal Farm Foundation representatives will provide presentations, training and program implementation guidance while working with your staff on the practical, low or no-cost solutions that work in a variety of sheltering environments (from large, open-intake facilities to limited admission private shelters and even small volunteer-run rescue groups).
Learn to implement strategies to increase adoptions, decrease length of stay, and help staff and volunteers become comfortable and confident as they deliver breed neutral information to adopters.
The deadline to apply for this grant is March 31st, 2016.
